Rohtak: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insa has once again applied for parole in the Punjab-Haryana High Court. Ram Rahim's wife Harjit Kaur has filed an application in the High Court seeking parole for her husband. The application states that Ram Rahim's mother Nasib Kaur is ill. Hearing the petition, the court had ordered the jail superintendent to take a decision.
According to sources, the decision on parole will come before 5 pm today. The High Court had asked the jailer to take a decision within five days. Gurmeet Ram Rahim has tried for parole twice before. Remarkably, even before his parole petition was dismissed. Gurmeet Ram Rahim was denied temporary bail by the Punjab Haryana High Court. She had sought parole to join her adoptive daughter's marriage.

During the hearing in the bench of Justices Daya Chaudhary and Sudhir Mittal, the Haryana government and CBI lawyers had fiercely opposed the parole of Ram Rahim. Haryana Government Advocate General Baldev Mahajan and CBI lawyer Sumit Goyal had told the court that it would not be proper to grant bail to Ram Rahim in view of law and order situation. When the bench took a strong stand on Ram Rahim's plea and sought dismissal of the appeal, Ram Rahim's lawyer withdrew the petition.
