Chandigarh: Political turmoil in Punjab has increased considerably over the past few years, while Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned as Punjab state president, has now launched a scathing attack on his own government. He has questioned CM Charanjeet Singh Channi's decision to make appointments to the new AG-DG and demanded change. Sidhu has warned that if this does not happen, we will not be able to show our faces.

In the same video, Sidhu tweeted, "Our government had come to bring the main culprits to justice and drug cases in cases of cruelty to religious texts. But the people removed the Chief Minister (Amarinder Singh) for failure. But now the appointments of the new AG-DG are like rubbing salt on the wounds of the victims. It should be changed, otherwise, we will not be able to show our face.

In fact, in Punjab, in 2015, there was a case of Guru Granth sahib's humiliation. There were demonstrations at several places in Punjab against this. In October 2015, Punjab Police opened fire on a mob protesting at Kotakpura Chowk and Village Bahbal Kalan on Kotakpura Bathinda Road. Two persons were killed in it. While a dozen persons were injured. The Congress had lashed out at the Akali Dal-BJP coalition government over the same issue. The Congress benefited from it in 2017, and a government led by Amarinder Singh was formed. But Sidhu continued to surround Amarinder Singh over the issue.
