RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke over the phone to discuss their bilateral relations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the two talked about ways to improve their bilateral ties in all areas. Putin spoke with the Saudi Crown Prince on Thursday, and according to a report from the Xinhua news agency, they discussed ways to improve their relationship in a number of areas.

The report said, they also looked at the most important regional and global concerns as well as their individual actions to promote peace and stability. After visiting Saudi Arabia on July 15, US Vice President Joe Biden made the call a few days later.

The Kremlin's statement also noted that the two also spoke about their cooperative efforts on the OPEC allies crude oil output deal and also the ongoing violence in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition has been at war for years.

The oil agreement has helped to stabilise  crude oil prices by keeping major producers' production under careful control. However, Ukraine has pleaded with countries all around the world to reduce their reliance on Russian oil supplies, which it claims are financing Russia's armed conflict with Ukraine.
