India's two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is all set to do her best to defend the title at the BWF World Badminton Championships starting here on Sunday. Sindhu was recently the runner-up in the World Tour Finals. Earlier, she had reached the semifinals of the French Open, Indonesia Masters and Indonesia Open.

The 26-year-old from Hyderabad is now set to defend his first World Championship title, which he won in Basel, Switzerland, 2 years ago. Sindhu has got a 'bai' in the first round. She is scheduled to face Martina Repisca in the coming round, whose first-round opponent Russelly Hertwan has also withdrawn from the tournament. Sindhu is likely to face Chochuwang of Thailand after winning the match.

Sindhu is going to have a great chance to defend her title in the absence of many star players, but despite this, she may face a tough challenge from Thailand's ninth seed Pornpavi Chochuwong, Chinese Taipei top seed Tai Ju Ying and Korean teenager Aan Seong. Seong is currently in excellent form. She also won the World Tour Final for the first time after winning the Indonesia Masters and Indonesia Open titles.
