Doha: A Taliban delegation met with Mutlaq Al Qahtani, Qatar's special ambassador for foreign affairs, to examine methods to boost humanitarian aid for Afghan citizens. This meeting takes place as a Taliban group travels to Qatar, where a new round of talks between the Taliban and the US will begin next week.
"The delegations discussed issues such as counter-terrorism, human rights, and humanitarian assistance. The two sides emphasised the necessity of humanitarian aid reaching its intended recipients, particularly as the winter season approaches "According to Russian news agency Sputnik, Qatar's ministry of foreign affairs said in a statement on Friday.
During the discussion, Qatar emphasised the necessity of continuing to operate schools in Afghanistan and ensuring that all segments of Afghan society, particularly girls, have easy access to education. "The State of Qatar also reaffirmed its commitment to continue working with all Afghan parties and international partners to improve Afghanistan's stability," the statement continued.
Meanwhile, the Taliban delegation expressed gratitude to Qatar for its assistance to the Afghan people.
