New Delhi: Amid the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan and the ever-increasing influence of the Taliban, Congress spokesperson Dr. Udit Raj tried to compare the situation in Afghanistan with India years ago, but eventually fell prey to the abuses and criticism of radical Islamists.

In fact, in his tweet, the Congress leader uploaded photos of some girl students wearing skirts and Udit Raj wrote ?This is the college scene of 1960s Afghanistan but where has the bigotry led it today. Women have been imprisoned in slavery and Burkha. And soon India is also moving in that direction.? The comments irked Islamists on social media who resorted to abuses against him.

A user named Zaid wrote, 'The burqa is not imprisonment, but the protective shield of sister daughters. If you want to realize this, you will realize that you will see your young daughter is very small clothes in your home. This culture is vile. And of course, the Taliban is doing wrong, by capturing Afghans.'

ZM Babar Qureshi wrote, 'If there is civilization in wearing small clothes, turn your daughter and sister wife in a bikini like a Western who is living a fanaticism, so let live, why are you so itchy?'

Shama Parveen writes, 'If Muslim women don't have a problem, why do you have so much problem, keep up with your work, you also have a lot of practices, pay attention to them, you have to walk naked, turn around, how others are keeping them, why is there so much trouble in that?' The Taliban has called for a number of rules and regulations in Afghanistan. It has framed very strict rules for women and Afghan women are also being sexually abused by Taliban militants. A recent incident was reported in which the Taliban killed a 21-year-old Afghan girl only because she was not wearing a hijab.
