RISHIKESH: Launching a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress party national vice-president Rahul Gandhi said the Prime Minister has threatened the entire nation. “Pure desh ko dara ke rakha hai. Kehte hain Paytm nahi hai? Toh bahar niklo yahan se,” he said.

Addressing party workers in poll-bound Uttarakhand, Gandhi on Monday also took dig at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), saying that the right-wing group did not respect and hoist the national flag at its Nagpur headquarters for 52 years after independence.

“Since 7-8 months I am researching, I even googled about our party to see what is it that BJP-RSS want to destroy,” said Rahul while addressing his party workers in Rishikesh.

On the raging debate over Khadi calendar row, Rahul castigated Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying he removed the image of the man (Mahatma Gandhi) who sacrificed his life for the nation. He also criticised the Modi-led government over the demonetisation drive and for destroying the credibility of the Reserve Bank of India.

“Congress Party made and strengthened RBI so that there is a body which is not under government’s pressure as it takes economic decisions. But in a minute the soul of this institution was murdered by Modi Ji,” he said.
