New Delhi: After the abrogation of Section 370 of the Constitution granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit the valley to say dissatisfaction among the people of the state. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had expressed fears of violence in Kashmir. On this, the Governor of the Valley, Satypal Malik had invited Rahul Gandhi and opposition leaders to look into the situation in the state.

Governor Satyapal Malik had said that the situation in Kashmir is very calm and no untoward incident has taken place. The Governor had even said that if Rahul Gandhi wants to visit the place to see the peace and tranquillity of Kashmir, he is ready to send a helicopter. Responding to the same, MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala Rahul Gandhi said, Governor Sir, I and opposition leaders will visit Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh at your request.

However, Rahul Gandhi further said that we do not need any helicopter, but please ensure that we can visit the place freely and meet the leaders of the mainstream with the local citizens and the army personnel deployed there. However, Satyapal Malik has not commented on it so far.
