New Delhi: Congress is strongly opposing the Modi government over the Farmer Bill. While the Congress also in its manifesto issued for 2019, the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) had called for removal of the law and making agricultural produce barrier-free. The seven-year-old Congress tweet on social media is going viral. Rahul Gandhi is seen sitting with other Congress leaders.

The picture above is written that all Congress-ruled states will delist fruits and vegetables from the APMC Act, meaning will exclude. To reduce their prices.  Earlier, expelled Congress party leader Sanjay Jha had reminded the party of the manifesto for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, saying the two parties have the same stand on farmers. Sanjay Jha tweeted from his official Twitter handle. he wrote, "Folks, in our Congress Manifesto for 2019 Lok Sabha elections, we had ourselves proposed abolition of APMC Act and making agricultural produce free from restrictions. This is what Modi government has done in the farmers bills. BJP and Congress are on the same page here."

However, in response, Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram has said that the Congress' manifesto on APMC laws has been distorted by BJP spokesmen. We promised in Manifacto that we would set up thousands of farmers markets in small towns and big villages. Once completed, APMC laws can be changed.
