New Delhi: Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi has attacked the Central government over the slogan 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'. He tweeted that the 'Bjp's real slogan, Save the image, print the photo.' The central government's ambitious scheme 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' was launched in 2015.

Everyone can have their own opinion on how much the daughters of the country have benefited from this scheme. But, a report has come out on how much the government spent on this scheme. According to it, 80 percent of the funds under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme were spent by the government on its publicity. According to the information, a report of the Parliamentary Committee on Empowerment of Women presented in the Lok Sabha gives data in this regard.

The report says that out of the total Rs 446.72 crore released for the scheme during 2016-2019, 78.91 per cent was spent on publicity only through media. The report was presented in the Lower House of Parliament on Thursday, December 9 under the heading "Women Empowerment through Education" with special reference to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao led by BJP MP Heena Vijaykumar Gavit. Rahul Gandhi has hit out at the government today over the same.
