New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi is constantly attacking the Central government in support of farmers opposing the new agricultural laws brought by the Central government. Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Modi government at the Center over farmers' protests against the new agricultural laws.

Rahul Gandhi, MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala, tweeted from his official Twitter handle and said, "What the government said: farmers’ income will be doubled. What the government did: increased the income of its cronies four times and will halve farmers’ income. This is a government of lies and a ‘suit-boot’ government." The Congress leader has also shared a video related to the recent farmer movement on his Twitter handle. The farmers' protests against the three agricultural sector laws passed by the Central government in the last monsoon session are continuing on Wednesday on the seventh day, apart from the outskirts of Delhi, at Sant Nirankari Samagam Maidan.

The Central government held a meeting on Tuesday night with representatives of the protesting farmers and offered to set up a committee to look into their demands, which the farmers rejected. However, both sides agree to meet again on Thursday. Thousands of farmers reached Delhi on 27 November and are demonstrating.
