New Delhi: Former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi has attacked the central government over the data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on fake notes. Referring to demonetisation, Rahul Gandhi said that on November 8, 2016, the Modi government had suddenly put the country in line. People were longing to withdraw their own money. Rahul Gandhi said that a dictatorial decree of the king has inflicted an irreparable injury to the people and the country will never forget the pain of demonetisation.

Rahul Gandhi wrote in his Facebook post that on 8 November 2016, the country was suddenly put in line in the name of demonetisation. People yearned to withdraw their own money, there were marriages in many homes, children and the elderly were being treated, there were pregnant women but people did not have money, and many people died due to waiting in line for hours.' He further wrote that 2022 - RBI was quoted as saying that more than 101.9% of 500 notes and 54.16% of 2 thousand notes that reached the bank are fake. In 2016, where 18 lakh crore was in 'cash in circulation, today 31 lakh crore is in 'cash in circulation. The question is, what happened to your 'Digital India', 'Cashless India', Prime Minister?

Targeting the Modi government at the Center, Rahul Gandhi wrote that at the time of demonetisation, I had said that this is a 'national tragedy. Don't be under misguidance - Modi ji did not make a mistake, this has been done deliberately so that lakhs of crores of loans of 'Modi-Friend' capitalists can be waived from the money of common people and their black money can be made white. A dictatorial decree of the king has inflicted an indescribable injury to the people, the country will never forget the pain of demonetisation.
