New Delhi: Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi has paid tribute to his grandmother and former Prime Minister of the country Indira Gandhi on her 103rd birthday. Indira was born on 19 November 1917. Rahul Gandhi has written on his Twitter handle, 'A tribute on the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhiji, an efficient Prime Minister and powerful leader. The entire nation still exemplifies her impressive leadership, but I always remember her as my beloved grandmother. Her teachings inspire me constantly.'

On the other hand, Congress National Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala recalled and said, 'tribute to the 'Iron Lady of the world, with determination, courage and amazing ability, the first and only woman Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary. She will always be remembered in the history of world politics for her talent and political determination.'

Indira Gandhi was the first woman PM of India. She took charge of the country for three consecutive times between 1966 and 1977 and after that, she reached the post again in 1980 and she was assassinated while on the post on 31 October 1984.
