Dehradun: In Uttarakhand's Joshimath city, people are in fear due to land subsidence and cracks in the walls of houses. Today on Saturday, the Chief Minister reached Dhami at Ground Zero and went door-to-door to inspect. Because of this, he consoled the weeping people. There are cracks in the walls of more than 600 houses here. After which 44 families have been taken to a safer place. Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called a high-level meeting in Dehradun. In which strict instructions were given to the officers.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also expressed concern over the situation. He wrote on his Facebook page, "The images coming out of Joshimath in Uttarakhand are extremely disturbing. Very disturbed to see. Wide cracks in houses, seepage of water, bursting of land, and subsidence of roads are extremely worrying. In an accident, landslides Bhagwati Temple collapsed. Going against nature, continuous digging, and unplanned construction on the mountains, a dangerous crisis has broken out on the people of Joshimath today.'' In this bitter cold, this calamity has snatched the houses from the people. I appeal to the Congress workers to help the people as soon as possible and take them to safe places. Uttarakhand government is expected to take cognizance of the people in this harsh weather and make arrangements for their immediate rehabilitation and ensure the security of the temple.

Along with this, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also shared the post sharing pictures of Joshimath. In which he wrote, The news of land subsidence and cracks in hundreds of houses in Joshimath, Uttarakhand is very worrying. The people living there are in panic and are crying out for help. Due to indiscriminate digging and unplanned construction works ignoring nature, Joshimath is in dire straits. The state government is appealed to save the affected areas as well as take measures for the safety and rehabilitation of the people without delay. The consequences of delay can be dire. In this situation of a disaster, the whole country is united and we all are with the residents of Joshimath. I appeal to the Congress workers to help the affected people as much as possible. After the Chief Minister's meeting, the district administration has taken a big decision for the affected people of the Joshimath area. On the instructions of the CM, the administration has announced to pay rent to the affected families for 6 months. According to officers, Individuals whose houses are in danger or unlivable will be given assistance of Rs 4000 per family to stay in a rented house for the next 6 months. This assistance will be provided from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
