New Delhi: As the general elections approach, Rahul Gandhi is busily engaged in his usual activities—spreading falsehoods about Prime Minister Modi and his government. A viral video circulating on social media captures the Congress leader addressing locals in Korba, Chhattisgarh, where he falsely asserts that the Modi administration exclusively invited high-profile industrialists like the Ambanis and Adanis, along with celebrities such as Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan, to the Pran Pratishtha event, while neglecting to invite the impoverished and unemployed citizens of the country.

The Gandhi scion resumed his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Chhattisgarh after a two-day hiatus, aiming ambitiously to revitalize his party's prospects ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.“During Ram Temple’s inauguration, I saw Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Adani, Ambani, and all businessmen attending the event but I didn’t notice any poor, farmer, labourer, unemployed, or ‘chai wala’ among them,” he said. Although criticizing Prime Minister Modi and his administration is his favorite pastime, even if it means blatantly lying, had the Gandhi scion done some homework, he would have known that people from all walks of life were invited to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha event.
While several dignitaries and celebrities were indeed invited, many individuals from humble backgrounds, including family members of several karsevaks, sadhus, laborers, and sanitation workers, were also extended invitations to the ceremony. In a notable instance, Bidula Bai Dewaar, an 85-year-old ragpicker from Chattisgarh’s Gariaband district, received a formal invitation to the Ram Mandir’s inaugural ceremony. In 2021, Dewaar contributed Rs 20 from her savings for the construction of Ram Temple, exemplifying her dedication. Despite health concerns preventing her attendance, her gesture was acknowledged by the VHP.
Another invitee was Santoshi Durga, a 36-year-old sweeper from Naharpur village of Kanker in Chhattisgarh, recognized for her significant contributions to social work by the RSS. Several media outlets covered in-depth articles about the ordinary citizens invited to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, yet Rahul Gandhi persisted in spreading false information, attempting to sway voters against the incumbent BJP government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Such tactics are not surprising to those familiar with Congress's previous actions. It's worth recalling how, before the ceremony, the Congress falsely claimed that all four Shankaracharyas were opposed to the event's organization and would not attend, despite evidence to the contrary.
