NEW DELHI: Scheduled for a visit to his parliamentary domain of Wayanad in Kerala, Rahul Gandhi is making his way on the 12th and 13th of August, marking his initial visit since regaining his status as a Lok Sabha MP. Following the reinstatement of his Lok Sabha membership, Rahul Gandhi, a prominent figure within the Congress party, is poised to journey to Wayanad on August 12th. This decision was unveiled by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee Working President, VT Siddique, who asserted on Tuesday, "The 12th of August shall witness Rahul Gandhi's presence in Wayanad."

Addressing the media, he elucidated, "Our preparations are underway, fashioned to extend a warm and hearty reception in his honor. The gears are in motion, with a district Congress Committee gathering on the horizon. The 12th and 13th of August shall bear witness to Rahul Gandhi's active participation."

In a development that transpired on Monday, the senior Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, saw the reinstatement of his Lok Sabha membership, thereby reinstating his privileges to partake in parliamentary sessions. This move follows a four-month suspension from parliamentary proceedings. Preceding this, the Supreme Court, on a Friday, suspended Rahul Gandhi's conviction in a defamation case linked to his remarks regarding the surname "Modi." This suspension paved the way for the reinstatement of his membership.

Simultaneously, emerging reports have brought to light that Gandhi has also been granted the authorization to return to his designated official residence at 12, Tughlaq Lane. Confirming this development, sources disclosed on Tuesday, "The Estate office has officially sanctioned the allocation of a bungalow to Rahul Gandhi in his capacity as an MP in Delhi."

When posed with inquiries about the sentiments accompanying his return, Rahul Gandhi briefly paused before offering, "Mera ghar poora Hindustan hai" (My home is the entirety of India). Notably, this statement was offered in response to the directive for Wayanad MP to vacate his residence subsequent to his disqualification as a member of the lower house on the 24th of March.

Meanwhile, the upcoming phase of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra (Unite India Journey) is poised to commence in Gujarat and extend all the way to the northeastern state of Meghalaya. A prominent figure within the party, Jairam Ramesh, had previously broached the possibility of a procession originating from Porbandar in Gujarat, culminating in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, with aspirations of achieving this feat "before November."
