Jaipur: Amidst the ongoing dispute between Patanjali and the Indian Medical Association (IMA), officials of Alwar Collectorate in Rajasthan raided Patanjali's mustard oil manufacturing company Singhania Oil Mill on Wednesday (May 26, 2021). According to media reports, the mill was raided on the orders of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot.

Officials allegedly recovered a large quantity of Patanjali packing pouches from the mill and later sealed it. However, it is not yet clear what led to the raid. The Alwar Collectorate has constituted an inquiry committee and indicated that the matter may be handed over to the CB-CID. Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had written to PM Narendra Modi demanding that yoga guru Ramdev be booked immediately on sedition charges for allegedly conducting a misinformation campaign on vaccination and challenging government protocol for the treatment of Covid-19.

The Uttarakhand branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has asked Baba Ramdev to make a written apology within the next 15 days or face a defamation notice of Rs 1000 crore.
