Raipur: The Income Tax department has raided seven places, including two locations of Deputy Secretary Soumya Chaurasia posted at the office of Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel. The other five hideouts are said to be related to businessman Suryakant Tiwari. According to the report, the Income Tax Department is conducting raids at several places in Chhattisgarh. In February 2020, the income tax department's search operation was carried out for six days. At that time, the newly elected Mayor of Raipur, Ajaz Dhebar, former Chief Secretary and RERA Chairman Vivek Dhand, Director of Industries Department Anil Tuteja and his wife Meenakshi, who runs a chain of beauty parlours, liquor baron Amolak Bhatia, excise officer Arunpati Tripathi, Congress Treasurer and Deputy Secretary in the CM Secretariat, Soumya Chaurasia were present. At that time, the searches were conducted by the Delhi branch of the Income Tax Department with complete secrecy and its local investigation unit did not know anything till the time of commencement of the proceedings.
