Indian Railways has increased the period of advance reservation in trains from 30 days to 120 days. This provision of the reservation will be applicable in 230 trains. Of these, 30 trains are running from May 12, while 200 trains will start from June 1. This provision will come into force from 8 am on 31 May 2020.

According to the statement of Indian Railways on this matter, reservation of current and immediate categories has also been allowed in the reservation of tickets for trains. Booking of luggage and parcel in all these 230 trains will resume. In the press conference, the chairman of the Railway Board, Vinod Kumar Yadav, said that the waiting list was given because in the first trains it was seen that some people were cancelling tickets when the train services started.

In his statement, he had said that on special trains we have allowed travel only with confirmed tickets.  No passengers are allowed to climb on the way, so the RAC ticket is likely to be confirmed.  Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the ticket price is still the same. Not a single penny is being charged on any ticket. Some exemptions were banned before the lockdown, the same system is still in force today. More than 50 lakh migrant labourers have travelled with 3,736 labour special trains run by Railways from May 1. 3157 trains have reached their destination. According to official figures, trains ran from Gujarat (979), Maharashtra (695), Punjab (397), Uttar Pradesh (263) and Bihar (263). These labour special trains took the migrants to different parts of the country. The maximum number of trains reached Uttar Pradesh (1520), Bihar (1296), Jharkhand (167), Madhya Pradesh (121), Odisha (139).
