Mumbai: Today is the birthday of Raj Thackeray of the Thackeray family who ruled Maharashtra. Raj Thackeray is the cousin of Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. Raj Thackeray was born on June 14, 1968, as the son of Bal Thackeray's younger brother Shrikant Thackeray. Bal Thackeray's wife Meena Thackeray's sister was married to her younger brother Shrikant. Raj Thackeray's real name was Swaraj Shrikant Thackeray. He changed his name when Bal Thackeray spoke. Thereafter, he came to be known as Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray has a separate party and its name is Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena (MNS).

Raj Thackeray was the most loved of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray and people also see him as Bal Thackeray. But the distance between Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray has increased. One brother is the CM of Maharashtra, the other brother is fighting for power. Born on June 14, 1968, Raj Thackeray studied Arbhink from Bal Mohan Vidyamandir, Mumbai. Thereafter, he graduated from Mumbai's famous jazz school of art Mumbai. After completing his studies, as a young leader, he started politics in the presence of uncle Bal Thackeray. Raj Thackeray's father Shrikant Thackeray was the music director. He named the children, including his wife, Sangeet. The wife was named Madhuwanti and the son was named Swaraj. Madhuwanti is a raga of Hindustani classical music. Swaraj means the king of the vowels. He named his daughter Jayajaywanti. As a child, Swaraj started learning tabla, guitar and violin. He loved music, but he liked to make cartoons. Swaraj used to make cartoons for the Thackeray family's weekly magazine 'Marmik'. When he was studying in school. One day his uncle Balasaheb Thackeray said, "I did my career as a cartoonist as Bal Thackeray, you can start your career in the name of Raj Thackeray and thus Swaraj Thackeray changed her name to Raj Thackeray.''
