Bhopal: The Panchayat elections in Madhya Pradesh are witnessing many incarnations of democracy. Somewhere the candidates are pushing hard to win, somewhere the people's representatives are being elected with mutual approval. Meanwhile, a strange case was witnessed in the capital Bhopal where the Zila Panchayat member candidate was selected by Lord Hanuman.

In fact, 3 persons had filled the nomination form for district member from ward number 12 of Phanda Janpad Panchayat in Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh. Today, on the last day of withdrawal of names, 2 persons were sanctioned to withdraw. But a unique way was devised to decide who would sit and who would be elected unopposed.

The selection of the same candidate was left to Lord Hanuman. A slip of the names of the three was put up in the temple. Thereafter, a slip came out and he was declared a candidate. When the slip was taken out in the Hanuman temple, it contained the name of Lal Singh Gurjar of Bawdia Kala. And all the people present there agreed to the candidate with laughter. And in this unique way, Lal Singh Gurjar has been fielded from ward no. 12 of Phanda District Panchayat.
