Mumbai: The Head of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is constantly vocal about loudspeakers at Raj Thackeray mosques. He has warned the Maharashtra government to be prepared to face consequences if loudspeakers are not removed from mosques by May 3. On Sunday, Raj Thackeray said that the loudspeaker is not a religious issue but a social issue.

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief has said that if there is azaan 5 times from the loudspeaker in 1 day, then we will read the Hanuman Chalisa from the loudspeaker 5 times a day. As a party, they are ready to do it. We do not want to create a turbulent atmosphere in the country nor do we have any interest in it.

Raj Thackeray warned that if anyone is threatening the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, I want to speak that we have not tied our hands. If some people are pelting stones, now they will also get a befitting reply. If those people are with weapons, they should remember that we will do the same. On Saturday, the Nashik president of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding the removal of loudspeakers from mosques. The letter had said that action should be initiated to remove loudspeakers from mosques in compliance with the Supreme Court's order.
