Raj Thackeray appeared in court in 7-year-old case, got bail

Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray attended the Vashi Belapur Nagar Civil Court in Navi Mumbai today. Raj Thackeray was summoned by the court to appear in the court. This case is 7 years old. On 26 January 2014, Raj Thackeray, while addressing the activists in Thane district, raised the issue of corruption of toll points and asked people not to pay tolls.

After this statement, MNS activists vandalized the Vashi toll points connecting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai whose criminal case was registered, and Raj Thackeray along with some MNS workers was made accused. Raj Thackeray was not yet appearing in the court even after sending summons on several occasions after the registration of the case. Today, Raj Thackeray was produced in Vashi Belapur Court.

Raj Thackeray's lawyer Rajendra Shirodkar told that, according to the summons, Raj Thackeray appeared in court. Raj Thackeray got bail from the court on a personal bond of Rs 15,000. The next hearing of the case will be on 5 May. In the future, Raj Thackeray is allowed not to appear in the court in this case. During Raj Thackeray's court appearance, there was a convoy of workers from Krishna Kunj residence in Dadar, Mumbai to Vashi court. MNS also showed its power performance on this occasion.
