Kota: A case of pasting a slip written in Urdu on the idol of Hanuman ji in a temple in the Kota district of Rajasthan has come to light. There were also 786 written on this slip. After the incident, the locals have expressed their anguish and lodged a complaint with the police station demanding strict action. The police have also registered a case and started an investigation. The incident is said to have taken place on April 24, 2022 (Sunday).

According to media reports, the incident took place in Ayana, a village under Kota. The name of the temple is Radheshyam Vaishnava Temple. On the night of the incident, unidentified non-social elements pasted the slip written in Urdu on the statue of Hanuman Ji installed in the temple. When the priest first saw it, he reported it to other people. It was later reported to the police. Enraged by the incident, the villagers have given a 24-hour ultimatum to the police to nab the accused. He has also threatened an agitation if the arrest is not made within the time frame. The police are translating the words written in Urdu. Superintendent of Police of Kota District Rural, Kavindra Singh Sagar has admitted to receiving a complaint from the villagers.

Additional police force has been deployed at the spot in view of the tension. The situation is said to be normal on the spot. The police suspect a conspiracy to incite communal tension behind the act. It is also being suspected at the local level that someone may have done such a thing at the behest of a Tantric etc. to fulfil one of his wishes. In this case, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also demanded strict action against the accused from the police.
