Rajasthan Assembly Election Results 2018: Vasundhara Raje,Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot win from their respective seats

The counting of votes for the Rajasthan assembly elections began and the initial trends started coming out. The initial trend shows that the Congress party is inching towards majority as BJP is fighting anti-incumbency to retain power in the desert state. The Rajasthan has a tradition of alternating between Congress and BJP every five years. Earlier, strongrooms were opened in presence of candidates and machines taken to counting centers. The counting of votes is being conducted at 35 centers in the state including two centers each in Jaipur and Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje wins from Jhalrapatan constituency. Raje has been a three-time MLA from this assembly seat. She was competing against Manvendra Singh, son of former BJP leader Jaswant Singh.Congress leader Sachin Pilot wins from Tonk seat. while Ashok Gehlot is won from Sadarpura seat.

As per the latest trends, Congress is said to be currently leading in 102 out of 199 seats, while BJP is ahead in 72, BSP 3, Independents 22. The gap between Congress and the ruling BJP is slowly narrowing at the moment.
