Baran: In Baran district of Rajasthan, people from about 60 villages are forced to walk on broken roads due to the whims and fancies of the road contractor. Even after the work order that was received 1 year ago, Thakdar has not yet installed a single stone on the roads. As a result, the villagers are suffering from accidents. On the other hand, the Public Works Department also appears to be bowing down to the contractor's arbitrariness.

In the Baran Panchayat Committee, more than 5 crore orders were given by the state government to the Daga Construction Company in June 2018 for renovation of 5 broken roads of 28 km in rural areas. It was to repair the damaged roads from Kheda to Mathna, including the coal-fired Keshav, Coal to Rebarpura, Kund to Chinarpuria, khedli's approachroad to Mathana to Tisaya.

On June 1, 20018, tenders for these works were given by the Public Works Department to the same firm. However, the work, which was completed in March 2019, has not been completed even after a single stone in the past one year. The villagers who have been struggling for these roads for years are now feeling extremely outraged.  On the other hand, the responsible officer of the public construction department, who built the roads, has not imposed any penalty on the firm.
