JAIPUR:The long-standing suspense surrounding the appointment of Rajasthan's new chief minister is poised to culminate this Tuesday evening as the newly elected BJP MLAs convene for a crucial meeting. This eagerly anticipated gathering signifies the conclusion of a phase of uncertainty that followed the BJP's triumph in the assembly elections.

A Look  into the Rajasthan CM Announcement:

BJP's state general secretary and MLA Bhajanlal Sharma confirmed the assembly of the BJP Legislature Party scheduled for 4 pm today at the BJP state office. Registration for all newly elected BJP MLAs is set to commence at 1:30 pm.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will oversee proceedings as the designated observer, accompanied by co-observers National Vice President Saroj Pandey and National General Secretary Vinod Tawde.

Speculation regarding the next Rajasthan Chief Minister centers around contenders such as ex-chief minister Vasundhara Raje, and Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Ashwini Vaishnaw, who have emerged from the recent elections victorious in one of the three states claimed by the BJP.

Ahead of the legislature party meeting, BJP MLAs were briefed on Monday about the impending announcement from the party's central leadership, delayed by nine days post the November 25 election results.

Noteworthy gatherings with former CM Raje by several MLAs were interpreted as a demonstration of solidarity amid intense speculation. Raje also engaged with party leaders in Delhi.

Despite recent activities, party leaders like Rajendra Rathore, who faced electoral defeat, emphasized that the BJP does not traditionally exhibit displays of strength.

Rathore clarified on Monday that MLA interactions with senior leaders primarily involve well-wishing exchanges, stressing the unity of all BJP leaders in the state.

The BJP clinched victory in 115 out of 199 contested seats, with polling in one constituency postponed due to a candidate's demise.
