In this regard, the tax division has issued a notification. According to this notification, surcharge has been imposed on Indian-made foreign liquor, beer, Rajasthan-made liquor and country liquor. Given the amount of liquor, the state government has imposed surcharge per bottle. It is also mentioned here in this notification that this surcharge on liquor will be spent on natural calamities. It has been reported that the surcharge will be spent on events like drought, epidemic, flood, public health problems, fire.

Even before this, the Gehlot government of Rajasthan had increased the excise duty and once again increased the alcohol prices by applying surcharge. Due to the economic activities affected in the state, it is taking several steps to increase revenue. Earlier, the government had issued a notification to impose surcharge on Rajasthan-made liquor, but now the Finance Department has issued a notification to increase the surcharge.
