Jaipur: Section 144 has been imposed in the entire area following the communal riots in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. According to the police, Section 144 is in force from Monday night at Galta Gate, Ramganj, Subhash Chowk, Manak Chowk, Brahmpuri, Kotwali, Sanjay Circle, Nahargarh, Shastri Nagar, Bhatta Basti, Adarsh Nagar, Moti Dungari, Lal Kothi, Transport Nagar and Jawahar Nagar in Jaipur.

In the capital Jaipur, two communities came face-to-face on Monday night and brick-stones were pelted from both sides. A total of 24 people, including nine policemen, were also reported injured in the communal incident.

Internet service in 10 police station areas has been suspended till Wednesday night as a precautionary measure following the blaze. Five persons have been arrested in the case so far. The blaze erupted when people from one side were jamming the Delhi Highway near Galta Gate. Meanwhile, a bus plying from Haridwar was reportedly stoned by someone.

While some bus passengers were injured in the incident, a rumour emerged and people from other sects also started landing on the road. In no time, stone pelting started from both sides. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and was not spared by the mob. Police said the tension started on Sunday when passengers allegedly travelling on religious trips to one sect were mistreated by people of other religions near Galta Gate.
