Bum La: India and China are smart enough to reduce mutual tension. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said this on Friday. He has said that despite differences in the concept of India and China on the border issue, the forces of the two countries are smart enough to reduce tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He also said that Bum La Pass does not have any tension like situation on LAC.

Singh visited Bum La's forward post on the India-China border and during this time he congratulated the Indian Army for showing "great maturity" in every kind of situation. He told the press people that "I had an opportunity to talk to the soldiers here. I am very happy to know from our jawans that we are working very wisely on this India-China border, which is LAC, and the PLA (People's Liberation Army) of China is also working wisely. There is no tension in this LAC near Bum La Pass."

Rajnath Singh later made a tweet that I came to know during the Bum La tour that even after a difference of opinion on the border issue, the Indian Army and the PLA have shown enough sense to reduce tension on the LAC. Rajnath also reached the memorial of Subedar Joginder Singh, who was honored with Paramveer Chakra. Rajnath tweeted that it was a privilege to visit the memorial site of Paramvir Chakra winner Subedar Joginder Singh in Bum La sector of Arunachal Pradesh today. He also paid homage to the martyr.
