Mumbai: The counting of votes for 16 Rajya Sabha seats spread over four states continued till the wee hours of Saturday. In the end, the results of Maharashtra. Here, the BJP managed to win 3 seats. The Maha Vikas Aghadi won 3 seats. Apart from Maharashtra, the results of Haryana were delayed a lot. Here, the Congress suffered a severe setback and the party's candidate Ajay Maken had to face defeat. In Haryana, BJP's Krishan Lal Panwar and independent candidate Kartikeya Sharma won.

Talking about Maharashtra, Union Minister and BJP candidate Piyush Goyal managed to get 48 votes. In addition, another BJP candidate Anil Bonde won with 48 votes. With this, Dhananjay Mahadik of the BJP got 41.58 votes.  

Praful Patel of the NCP got 43 votes and Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha candidate Sanjay Raut also won with 41 votes. Shiv Sena's Sanjay Pawar got 39.26 votes and lost. Imran Pratapgarhi, who was fielded by Congress, won by securing 44 votes. There were 7 candidates in 6 seats of Maharashtra. For the sixth seat, the contest was between Sanjay Pawar of the Shiv Sena and Dhananjay Mahadik of the BJP. It was a prestige battle for Uddhav Thackeray for the CM but he failed to match his candidate.
