Imran Pratapgarhi, who was fielded by Congress, won by securing 44 votes. There were 7 candidates in 6 seats of Maharashtra. For the sixth seat, the contest was between Sanjay Pawar of the Shiv Sena and Dhananjay Mahadik of the BJP. It was a prestige battle for Uddhav Thackeray for the CM but he failed to match his candidate.
