Many eminent personalities in cinema, including Kamal Haasan, have taken to their social media handle to pay tributes to the acclaimed filmmaker.
‘Chithram’ actor Ranjini too took to her Facebook handle to express grief on the filmmaker’s passing away. Ranjini has worked with the late filmmaker in the 1991 release ‘Sir...I Love You’ and the news of his demise was certainly devastating for her. She also added that she missed working with the filmmaker for a second movie, of which Kamal Haasan too was a part.
“I am feeling sad at the demise of Veteran Tamil movie director, Mr GN Rangarajan (GNR) sir....one of my favourite director who extracted some of my hidden talents in his venture, “Sir, I Love You ️. ️A wonderful human-being who always takes special care and above all, the only movie-set where neither of my parents attended as they always trusted GNR sir and his sweet team. I love you very much sir and had never forgotten those special days we shared. Missed working in your second project, “Maharasan” opposite Kamal sir whose your special pet????Love you lots ,” Ranjini said in her Facebook post.
Ranjini is one of the most loved actors in Malayalam cinema. She won the hearts of the Keralite movie buff with the 1988 release ‘Chithram’. She played the character named Kalyani in the film and romanced Mohanlal. The movie was helmed by Priyadarshan. The film and Ranjini’s chemistry with Mohanlal worked well, which resulted in yet another film ‘Mukunthetta Sumitra Vilikkunnu’ by Priyadarshan. Ranjini has also worked in many Tamil movies.
