At the same time, under the new rules, the Ministry of External Affairs has also recognized the ration card as address proof.

Along with this, the passport department of the Ministry of External Affairs has relaxed the rules for proof of date of birth in the application of reissue passports. Now the basis of old passport will be accepted as birth certificate.
