Ratlam: In view of the lack of oxygen in corona infection in Madhya Pradesh at present, DRM Vineet Gupta had proposed to the Western Railway General Manager to set up an oxygen unit two days ago. As per the information received now, the proposal has been approved in the interest of railway employees. Tenders are now scheduled to be floated today. In fact, in the interest of railway employees, DRM Shri Vineet Gupta had proposed an oxygen unit at Ratlam Railway Hospital. The proposal, which was made only two days ago, has been immediately approved by Western Railway General Manager Alok Kansal.

Giving more details on the whole issue, DRM Shri Gupta said, "There was a shortage of oxygen in the corona crisis. We had managed at our level, trying to assure no oxygen shortage will be there, so that this problem do not come up in future, so two days ago, a proposal was sent to ratlam railway hospital to set up an oxygen unit. Which has been sanctioned by General Manager Alok Kansal". At the same time, he said, "During the proposal, we also kept in touch with the companies to set up oxygen units today, when it has been approved, tenders will be invited only on Monday". Gupta also informed that the oxygen unit, which is worth about Rs 78 lakh, will provide 500 litres per minute of oxygen to the hospital. This will enable easy supply of oxygen to 50 beds under normal conditions.

He further said that a 76 bed covid centre is currently functioning at Ratlam Railway Hospital. In which we are currently supplying oxygen through cylinders. The problem of oxygen deficiency will be eliminated forever in future also after the oxygen unit is installed. Further, DRM Shri Gupta also informed that ratlam has been sanctioned oxygen unit at present. Based on our proposal, the oxygen unit will also be sanctioned by next week in the hospitals of the rest of the divisions of Western Railway.
