Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain and singer Vani Jairam have been honoured with the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan.
Raveena Tandon is working for three decades now, the actor has always maintained a fine balance between commercial films such as Mohra, to an offbeat film like Daman, which fetched her the National Award for Best Actress. Ahead of 74th Republic Day, on January 25, the government of India announced Padma Awards for this year. The Mohra actress became the only actor to be conferred with Padma Shri.

Padma Awards are one of the highest civilian Awards of the country. They are conferred in three categories, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Awards are given in various fields of activities like social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and arts. Raveena is among the 106 recipients of this third-highest civilian award in India. This comes a day after Raveena was chosen as a delegate at the W20, which is the Women's Empowerment engagement wing at G20 India's Presidency.
