The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given a big blow to Pakistan. Pakistan vs England (PAK vs ENG) 3-match Test series is being played. In the first Test match played in Rawalpindi, a total of 1,768 runs were scored and England won by 74 runs on the last day. Now the ICC has considered the Rawalpindi pitch as below average and has given it 2 demerit points.

Earlier in March, a Test match was played between Pakistan and Australia on this pitch. Even then it got 2 demerit points. These points remain active for 5 years and after 5 demerits, there is a ban of 12 months on any venue or ground. That is, no international match can be held there for one year. So far Rawalpindi's pitch has got 4 demerit points, it will be banned as soon as a single demerit point is found.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja also expressed disappointment on the pitch. Match referee Andy Pycroft also agreed. Pycroft said on Tuesday (December 13) that it was a very flat pitch, which did not help the bowler in any way. This was the main reason why the batsmen scored runs very fast and both teams scored big scores. England scored 500 runs on the first day of the first Test. This had never happened before.
