Mumbai: The MP-MLA court in Mumbai's sessions court has begun hearing the bail plea of Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana. Senior advocates Rizwan Merchant and Abad Ponda, appearing for the Rana couple, have approached the court. It may be noted that at the time of the hearing held on Friday, the police had filed their reply opposing the bail of the Rana couple.

In the wake of the hearing, Rana's lawyer said that the case is without talk. The Rana couple are elected leaders (MPs and MLAs) and will not run away, so their freedom should not be taken away from them. The advocate had said that the police have also not sought their custody, due to which they are still in judicial custody. Both have an 8-year-old daughter. Some conditions can be imposed on both but they should be freed. In addition, several types of arguments were also put forward by the advocate. It was said that Rana couple Matoshree had gone alone. There were no workers with them. There was no motive for violence. Even after this, the protest was declared against the government. In fact, the protests were so pro-government. There is no case of treason here.

But the government's lawyers are opposing the petition on the ground that the Rana couple had not complied with the police orders. They had already been informed that their visit to Matoshree could disturb law and order. Now if there was a person who obeyed the rules, they would have changed their decision. But these people misused the rights given in the Constitution, the boundaries were crossed.
