After Corona, the present government is working to raise the state of the state due to the financial crisis in Punjab. To deal with this situation, a committee constituted under the leadership of economic expert Montek Singh Ahluwalia has presented its interim report to the state government. In this, it is advised not to increase the salary of the employees and not to pay the outstanding DA-arrears. In this interim report of 74 pages, Ahluwalia has suggested such measures to the Punjab government, most of which are in line with the policies of the Narendra Modi government at the Center.

Captain Amarinder Singh has been openly opposing these policies for a long time. The committee, while openly advocating the Agriculture Ordinance and Electricity Amendment Bill-2020 brought by the Central Government, has proposed to implement it in Punjab. The Punjab government has already announced that it will not be implemented under any circumstances, calling it anti-farmer.

It is to be noted that suggestions have been made for the open market for farmers, private power supply in large districts, to end the electricity subsidy given to farmers, to pay central government pay scales to government employees, and to increase taxes on Mandira. The committee said in its interim report that the Finance Department has estimated a reduction of about 25 percent in the state's budgetary revenue during the current year. He suggested measures to control spending, where free electricity and subsidies have been curbed.
