Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government has stepped up preparations for the likely third wave of corona and Omicron new variants. Mock drills have been conducted in covid management units of all districts on 17th and 18th December to check the preparedness and activity done so far at district and block level. The management of corona infection in children will also be tested during this period. CM Yogi had ordered conducting mock drills to review the preparedness.

Tell us that a lot of work has been done to improve health services in the State during and after the second wave of corona. Oxygen plants, ventilators, beds, ICU and Piku Niku wards have been set up. This structure is being developed from district level hospitals to CHC and PHC. The speed with which the new variant of corona is spreading Omicron cannot rule out the possibility of a third wave. The health department has increased vigilance in this regard.

Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad on Friday issued instructions to all Divisional Commissioners, DMs, Additional Directors, Medical Health, CMO and Medical Superintendents. All doctors and paramedical personnel listed in the roster of all identified covid management units and medical personnel undergoing training at state and district level are to compulsorily participate in the mock drill.
