New Delhi: 21 people have died due to floods caused by continuous rains in Brazil. The floods have devastated Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Many houses are ruined. 32 people have also been reported missing in Sao Paolo. Due to the recent strong storm, heavy rains caused havoc within a few hours. This wastage can be clearly seen on the southern coast of São Paulo and in Rio de Janeiro.

Officials say the coastal cities of Santos, Sao Vicenta and Guaruja are badly affected by floods and landslides, while at least 16 people died in Sao Paolo on Tuesday. One of these victims was a relief worker who was killed in a landslide. João Doria, the governor of São Paulo, tweeted, "I am with the people affected by this disaster." Landslides and felling of trees have led to many highway jams. This natural disaster became a political issue when the city's Mayor Marcelo Crivella in Rio blamed the people there for the floods.
