NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries Limited, the leading corporate entity in India in terms of revenue, profits, and market value, has once again emerged as the top Indian company on Forbes' Global 2000 list for the year 2023. Placed at an impressive 45th position, Reliance Industries has surpassed renowned global names such as Germany's BMW Group, Switzerland's Nestle, China's Alibaba Group, the US's Procter & Gamble, and Japan's Sony. This notable ascent in the rankings reflects Reliance Industries' progress from the 53rd position in 2022 to the current 45th position in 2023.

Among the other prominent Indian companies in the 2023 rankings, we have State Bank of India at number 77, HDFC Bank at 128, and ICICI Bank at 163. The Global 2000 list evaluates the world's largest companies based on four key metrics: sales, profits, assets, and market value. Forbes utilized the most recent financial data available as of May 5, 2023, to calculate these factors for the rankings.

It's worth mentioning that Reliance Industries had previously claimed the top spot in Forbes' World's Best Employers ranking for 2022, securing an impressive global rank of 20. This recognition was based on extensive employee surveys, where individuals rated their employers on various criteria.

Reliance Industries is a conglomerate company based in India that operates in various sectors such as petrochemicals, refining, oil, and gas exploration. Founded by Dhirubhai Ambani in 1966, Reliance Industries has grown to become one of the largest and most valuable companies in India.

The company's activities encompass a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, media, retail, and e-commerce. Reliance Industries owns and operates the world's largest oil refining complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat, with a capacity to process more than 1.3 million barrels of crude oil per day.
