Sources said the Chicago Exchange rose 3 per cent on Friday, which had a positive impact on soyabean oil prices. On the other hand, due to weak domestic demand in the summer days, mustard declined while the price of groundnut oil remained at the old level.
According to sources, the impact of the rally in Chicago will be visible on the Malaysia Exchange on Monday. He said the government should focus on increasing domestic production as the price of indigenous oil is Rs 10 to Rs 12 per kg less than that of imported oils. Sources said the government should focus on the maximum retail price (MRP) of indigenous oils instead of increasing their testing.
