Washington: A top American infectious disease specialist, Dr. Anthony Fauci, has described the initial results of an important clinical trial of the drug Remdesivir as 'good news' towards the fight against the novel coronavirus. Initial results show that patients who have been given Remedisivir medicine recovered 31 percent faster than those who were given placebo treatment.

US President Donald Trump has also described the Remedesivir drug trial as a fast-moving step towards vaccine preparation. Patients of coronavirus infection, who were given remade, were cured within 11 days. Those who were given placebo treatment were cured in 15 days. Let us know that India is part of a joint trial with the World Health Organization (WHO) for the corona vaccine. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) director Dr Raman Gangakhedkar had earlier said that India has kept a watch on the trial of Ramdesivir and the data related to it is being collected.

Remadecivir is a drug formulated by the American Gilead company, which can prove to be a major weapon in the ongoing fight against the corona virus.
