New Delhi: Republic Day celebrations are going to be celebrated with great pomp on Sunday across the country. Parade related programs will start from 9 am. Delhi Police is very alert about this. Police has made many security arrangements. Necessary liaison and rehearsal has been done with other units like NSG, SPG, and ITBP. All agencies will work in coordination with each other. Delhi Police says that Swat teams have been specially activated and strategically deployed in view of Republic Day. Facial Recognition System of Delhi Police has also been installed at many public places to identify the suspects.

According to sources, an additional 48 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed along with about 22,000 police personnel in uniform and plain clothes. On the other hand, Delhi Police's Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) NS Bundela said that Delhi's borders will be sealed from the night of 25 January 2020.

Rajpath will be closed for common vehicles from 6 pm: Rajpath from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will be closed for common vehicles at 6 pm on January 25. This ban will continue till the end of Republic Day celebrations on 26 January. Cross-traffic will stop at Rajpath from 11 pm on 25 January and is closed till the parade ends on 26 January. India Gate will be closed at 2 pm on 25 and 26 January. Traffic will stop on Tilak Marg from 10 am on January 26.

Parade will start at Rajpath at 9.50 am: The Republic Day parade will begin on January 26 at 9.50 am. Programs related to the parade will begin at 9 am at India Gate. Adequate arrangements have been made to ensure that there is no obstruction in the parade. The safety circle is divided into 4 parts. The parade will reach the Red Fort Ground via Vijay Chowk, Rajpath, India Gate, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, Red Fort Chowk. During this time, 6 metro stations - Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhavan, Patel Chowk, Race Course, Mandi House, and Pragati Maidan will remain closed.
