Dehradun: The anger among the people is increasing every day, so much so that today SC-ST employees are enraged at the decision to remove the ban from promotion. An emergency meeting of Uttarakhand SC-ST Employees Federation took place in Dehradun, in which the government's decision was criticized. Federation's state president Karam Ram alleged that the government has tricked the SC-ST class, in which it will have to pay the price in the future. He took the decision under pressure, while the Supreme Court had clearly stated in the order of February 7, 2020, that the government could have given reservation in promotion at its discretion.

There is still a dispute on these issues, the strike has been postponed: There is evidence that the general OBC employees have returned to work from the strike, but the road ahead is also not easy for the government. The Uttarakhand General OBC Employees Association has written a letter to the Chief Minister warning of the agitation if the remaining demands are not met. In a letter written to the CM and CS, the state president of the association Deepak Joshi and the state general secretary Virendra Singh Gusaini have said that the state government should bring an ordinance or enact an act on the lines of Uttar Pradesh to basically end the reservation in promotion. Uttar Pradesh did this work in 1997.

It is also being considered that this is one of the main demands of the employees. Similarly, there is a demand to change the new roster system of direct recruitment. Employee organizations are serious about these demands. The strike has been postponed on the fulfillment of the demand to abolish reservation in the promotion. The government has assured to accept the strike period as a special holiday keeping in view the special circumstances. It is also said that no employee will be harassed. On this basis, the decision to postpone the strike has been taken. If the remaining demands are not implemented within a certain time frame, the association can resume the strike.
