New Delhi:- The raceway has undergone seven name changes and has hosted 133 NASCAR Cup Series races as part of the NASCAR Cup Series in its 70-year history. NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty is the all-time winning driver with his 13 wins, including his staggering 9 wins in his 10 races in the early 1970s.

His two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, and his not-to-be-missed NASCAR Hall of Famer Kyle Busch, is currently the winningest driver with six trophies. As the NASCAR Cup Series arrives in Virginia for Sunday's Cookout 400 (3 p.m. on USA Network, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), the sport will see the 3/4-mile Richmond Oval and the enchanting world of modern racing. It's clear how they embraced the beginnings of dramatizing the very next-nicknamed establishment of an"Action Track"

The biggest stars in sports, including three generations of Petty. Lee, Richard, and Kyle are holding trophies there. And the story of the Richmond winner has a nice modern twist, from six-time winner Bush to veteran Kevin Harvick to Virginia-bred Denny Hamlin, who also won four trophies in Virginia. are participating. The track has tended to attract veterans in recent years, with only one 'first' winner in the last 10 races, Hendrick Motorsport's Alex Bowman in 2021. Richard Childress Racing drivers Busch and Joe Gibbs Racing Martin Truex Jr. won half of the races during that period, two and three respectively.

Harvick, the #4 Stewart Haas Racing Ford driver, will make his 45th and final start at Richmond this weekend. A win would be the first victory of the walk-off season and break the all-time record with Hamlin. Interestingly, in the 2011 thriller film starring Carl Edwards, he led the most laps with 202 of 400 laps and only 1 of 4 wins.

Harvick defeated JGR's Christopher Bell last summer to become the defending champion at this weekend's Richmond 400. At the start of the season he was fifth on the track and has the most Top 5 (18) and Top 10 (30) finishes of any active driver. Harvicks has finished in the top five in three of the last four races. And his seven NASCAR Xfinity Series wins at this track are the most ever.

"Richmond falls into the flat track category and we've always been good at flat track," said Harvick, the top rider in the playoff standings without a win this season. “Over the years, Richmond has been one of the really good places. I'm happy to arrive at Victory Lane because we had a good night there, we had a good car and it was good for everyone to do it last year as "Good distance to Richmond."

His championship rival Kyle Busch would agree. Not only does he have the most wins of any active driver, but he has also done well at Richmond. Busch completed all 35 NASCAR Cup Series races at the track, completing all but one possible lap during that period, or 14,208 out of a possible 14,209 laps. That equates to 10,521 miles or 21 round trips from the Richard Childress Racing Shop in Wellcome, North Carolina. to Richmond Raceway.

"I've had a lot of success at Richmond Raceway and I enjoy going there," said Busch. "It's a wonderful place."

Fun might explain the undeniable tendency of racetracks to have multiple winners. NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart, who took his first career win at the track, has long considered Richmond his favorite place. And, as you can see from the record books, the drivers who succeed in the three-quarter mile have a lot of fun with it.

Multiple race winners have a definite trend. Since 2005, he is only two of his one-time winning drivers at Richmond over 36 races. Casey Kahn won his 2005 NASCAR Cup his series his race from pole position at this track, but never won his premier series again. Bowman is the only jockey to win one at Richmond during that period, and the only jockey of eight previous Richmond winners to win once.

Truex admitted there were some disappointments leading up to his victory. Six times he led at least 100 laps at the Richmond race, but he won only two of those strong races. “There were some heartbreaking results where we could have won races and didn’t. “After that, I had a winning streak there, so it was a great course and a lot of fun.”
