New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai today (October 18). During this time, Roger Binny, who was a member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, will take over as the president of the board in place of former captain Sourav Ganguly. For future office-bearers, including Roger Binny, the election is a mere formality as all are set to be elected unopposed. The AGM will also discuss the post of ICC chairman.

Election of ICC Chairman:-

The last date for nomination for the post of ICC President is October 20. The ICC Board meeting will be held in Melbourne from November 11 to 13. The other BCCI office-bearers who will be elected unanimously are board secretaries Jay Shah, Ashish Shelar (treasurer), Rajiv Shukla (vice-president) and Devjit Saikia (joint secretary). Outgoing treasurer Arun Dhumal will be the new president of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Let me tell you that, Sourav Ganguly's much-talked-about departure from the BCCI was also discussed fiercely in the political corridors and now it will be interesting to see whether this former captain's name is considered for the top post of ICC or not. Other names doing the rounds include Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and former BCCI chief N Srinivasan.
