New Delhi: Rohit Sharma, popularly known as the hitman, has recently been given the command of Team India in the format of limited-overs in place of Virat Kohli. He has set many big records in the format of limited-overs with his bat, which have not been broken so far. Rohit is the first batsman to score a double century three times in ODI. He has also jointly set the record for the fastest century in the world in T20 Internationals.

Rohit set the record for the fastest century in T20 Internationals 4 years ago on this day (December 22). He achieved this feat in 2017. He then hit a century off just 35 balls against Sri Lanka in the match played in Indore. South African batsman David Miller set the record for the fastest ton in T20 Internationals on October 29, 2017. He scored a century off 35 balls. Two months later, Rohit scored a century off the same ball and equalled Miller. Nearly two years later, on August 30, 2019, Czech Sudesh Vikramsekara also equalled the two with a century off 35 balls. The three batsmen have jointly become the fastest batsmen to score centuries in T20 Internationals. This record has not been broken so far.

Rohit Sharma was also the captain of Team India in that series. He has thus become the first batsman in the world to score the fastest century in T20 Internationals as captain. This record has not even been broken so far. Rohit hit 10 sixes and 12 fours in an innings of 118 runs (43 balls). His strike rate in this innings was 274.41.
