Due to a problem with the brake reaction bracket, Royal Enfield has issued a recall for 26,300 Classic 350 bikes. The technical team at the two-wheeler manufacturer determined that under certain riding conditions, the brake response bracket linked to the motorbike swing arm might be damaged. When a particularly heavy braking force is given to the rear brake pedal, the response bracket may be damaged.

This can result in unique braking noise and, as a result, potential brake efficiency degradation under severe situations, possibly leading to accidents. The problem affects Classic 350 cars with single-channel ABS and rear drum brakes that were built between September 1 and December 5 of this year. The brake response bracket of the swing arm for these units is being reinforced in the recalled units. "Issues like these can develop under unique, intense riding situations," the firm said in a statement. "We are dedicated to fixing this as fast as possible, with the least amount of inconvenience to our riders."

Customers whose motorbike Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) comes inside the list of impacted motorcycles built during the above timeframe will be approached by Royal Enfield service teams and/or local dealerships. Owners of Classic 350 models can also get this data via the Royal Enfield website or local workshops. They can also phone the company's helpdesk at 1800 210 007 to double-check the information.

The 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 debuted in September with several updates, beginning from 1.844 lakh and up to 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Meteor 350 is based on the same J-platform as the upgraded motorbike. Several critical components from the Meteor 350 are also used in the new Classic 350.
