Mumbai: Efforts have started on the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2019. BJP-led NDA allies have started demanding assembly seats. Union minister and Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athawale has asked for 10 seats for his party. While BJP and Shiv Sena have not yet agreed on seat sharing. In such a situation, Athawale has put BJP in crisis by demanding 10 seats.
Athawale said on Thursday that BJP and Shiv Sena have decided to give 18 seats to allies in Maharashtra. In such a situation, RPI should be given 10 out of these 18 seats. With this, Athawale said that we will contest these seats in Maharashtra Assembly elections 2019 on our election symbol. Athawale said that we do not want to contest on the election symbol of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Let us tell you that no final decision has been taken yet on the seat-sharing between the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance in the assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra this year. Although there was a lot of discussion about the 50-50 formula earlier, under which it was believed that BJP-Shiv Sena will field candidates for 135-135 seats out of total 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, but no official statement about this is yet to come.
